
Honeymoon Island Hosts Eleventh Annual Halloween Event-Family fun for all ages at a local state park-DUNEDIN – The Florida Department of Environmental Protection, The Florida Park Service and the Friends of the Island Parks invite the public to “Halloween in the Park XI-Terrors Through Time”, a safe alternative to trick or treating. The event will be held on Friday, October 24th and Saturday October 25th, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. each night. There will be a family area where visitors will be taken on an imaginary tour of the “Prehistoric Park System” starting with dinosaurs and ending in the present time with a fun way to learn about extinction. There will also be face painting for the kids, fortune telling for the parents, games, storytelling with the Dunedin and Palm Harbor libraries, food and fun. There will be a scary trail for the older children and adults complete with a haunted house. A donation of $10 per carload will include 10 free game tickets. The event will take place in the picnic area. Participants should wear their costumes (not required), walking shoes and bring insect repellant and a small flashlight. The park is located approximately six miles west of US 19, 35 minutes west of Tampa on SR 586 (Curlew Road).
