Caladesi Chapter DAR Celebrates Anniversary

Members of Caladesi Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), recently celebrated the chapter's 34th anniversary of its founding with a luncheon at the Dunedin Country Club. Current Regent, Pat Monroe, introduced and recognized five previous regents, Rose Warren, Julia Noah, Jane Turner, Mary Kitchen and Jane Schafer. Speaker Jim Schnur, Special Collections/Archives, University of South Florida Library, St. Petersburg, gave an enlightening talk entitled, The Good Old Days in Pinellas County.

The next meeting of the chapter will be held on Monday, November 17 at 12:30 PM at the First Presbyterian Church, 455 Scotland Street, Dunedin. The speaker will be a representative from the U.S. Coast Guard. Member Doris Weber will be honored for her many years of service of delivering comfort items to the Veterans at Bay Pines Hospital.

Any woman who can prove lineal descent from a patriot of the American Revolution is eligible to join and is invited to attend the meeting. Members of the Chapter are available at the Dunedin Public Library every Thursday !:00-3:00 PM to help people with their genealogy. Call (727) 531-2100.
