Come and Chat With the World Champion Clearwater BombersA free, unique and rare opportunity is on the horizon for all fans of historic sports. For the first time ever, the Clearwater Historical Society is sponsoring a "Clearwater Bombers Day" at the Historic Plumb House Museum, 1380 Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue, Clearwater. From 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 6th, several players from the 10-time World Champion Clearwater Bombers Softball Team will be on hand to greet and visit with the Plumb House visitors. They will answer questions, pose for pictures (bring your camera) and maybe recall a story or two of the glory days of some of Clearwater’s most famous sports figures. Some of the former Bombers who will be on hand for this very special occasion are Joe Everett, Manager (1962-63) and 2nd base (1952-55), Harry "Jughead" Hancock, catcher and right field (1941-63) and "Junie" Trombly 2nd base (1946- 51). Pictures of many of the Bomber players and teams will also be on display, thanks to George Fulmer's Photo Service. Call Dean Robinson at 727/442-9011 for more information.
