IEYC Holiday Boat Parade SaturdayThe 2008 Island Estates Yacht Club Memorial Holiday Boat Parade is set to illuminate this Saturday, December 13th (with a rain date of December 14th). The sparkling lights will shimmer off the waterways and create a magic of holiday spirit for boaters and observing partygoers alike. The decorated boats will assemble at the South Bridge in Mandalay Channel at 6 p.m. and shortly afterwards begin weaving in and out of Island Estate canals before heading to Coachman Park around 8 p.m.. Clearing the Memorial Bridge, the parade will move Westward along the causeway before turning South at green marker 7 to the Clearwater Yacht Club’s judging stand. Cash and gift certificate prizes, donated by many area businesses, will be awarded to the best decorated boats. This year’s judging panel will be IEYC Commodore Wayne Millington, Clearwater City Manager Bill Horne and Clearwater Yacht Club General Manager Tom Brusini. Last-minute participants should register at the Captain’s Meeting, Thursday, December 11th, 7 p.m, at the Clearwater Yacht Club.
