Students from the STEPS School of Dance in Clearwater were caught on camera during a recent performance at the Harborview Center.

A tip of the hat to the STEPS School of Dance in Clearwater, whose students captured two first place awards at the recent Joe Tremaine Dance Convention and Competition at the Renaissance SeaWorld Resort in Orlando. The young dancers were judged 1st place overall in the open production category and 1st place overall in the lyrical production category ... Congratulations to John and Judy Genevie on their upcoming wedding anniversary. Their special day is January 4 ... Belated anniversary congrats go to Jesse and Norma Brooks-Parks (December 26) and Kayode and Juna Sotonwa (December 28) ... On Thursday, January 1, as people exchange "Happy New Year" wishes, friends and relatives of Lori Metzner, Reinhold Weber, Jennifer Gregory and Carol Stirr will be wishing them a "Happy Birthday". Famous Americans born on this day include Betsy Ross, Paul Revere and J. Edgar Hoover ... Kaylee Odette will be celebrating her 14th birthday on Friday. Betty Parker, Joan Johnson, Tom Davis, Patty Blair and Sandra Walling also turn a year older that day ... Bring out the cake and ice cream on Saturday for Diane Osborne, Jean McKenzie, Carley Wickman, Jerry Smith and Esther McDonald. By the way, Carley will be 13 this year ... Be sure to wish Beth Henry, Lois Finn and Bob Garrett all the best on their special day, which is Sunday ... The birthdays of Carol Littler, Mary Schapsmeier, Trudy Clark, Patricia Pearson and Margaret Noseworthy are coming up on Monday ... Jean Collins, Kelly King, Reina Carbajal, Mary Kelly, Libby Singer and Elizabeth Cox are among those turning a year older on Tuesday ...
