
North Suncoast Associates To Host "Hands Across the Bay" Luncheonby Sandi Fahy
Photo by SANDI FAHY CLEARWATER BEACH - Carlouel Yacht Club will be the setting for this year's "Hands Across the Bay" Luncheon hosted by The Florida Orchestra/North Suncoast Associates. The fundraiser for The Florida Orchestra will take place on Wednesday, February 11. "Social time" is scheduled at 11 a.m. Lunch will be served at noon. Pianist Aza Torshkoeva, winner of the 2008 Young Artist Competition sponsored by The Florida Orchestra, will be featured performer. Aza, a student at the University of South Florida, hails from Russia, where she has also been recognized for her musical ability. The North Suncoast Associates is an organization of men and women in north Pinellas County who support The Florida Orchestra through fundraising, educational programs and audience development. Members of the St. Petersburg Guild of The Florida Orchestra and the Tampa Guild of The Florida Orchestra will be joining members of The Florida Orchestra/North Suncoast Associates for the affair. The three groups take turns in hosting the annual "Hands Across the Bay" Luncheon. Johanna Guzik is chairperson for the 2009 luncheon. Serving on her committee are Martha Robertson, Conrad Wieler, Lynn Lawton, Martha Delano, Mary Ann Whitehurst and Pat Bauer. Cost to attend the luncheon is $35 per person.
