
Pinellas County Man Arrested for Distributing Child PornographyTALLAHASSEE – Attorney General Bill McCollum announced January 16th that a Pinellas County man has been taken into custody on charges he possessed and distributed child pornography. Michael R. Dube was arrested by law enforcement officers with the Attorney General’s CyberCrime Unit with assistance from the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office and the police departments of St. Petersburg, New Port Richey, Bradenton and Largo. Investigators learned of Dube’s distribution of child pornography while investigating a separate subject in the Tampa Bay area. Law enforcement continued investigating Dube, 52, and executed a search at his Clearwater residence, where they found the images of child pornography which had been distributed. Dube admitted to both possessing and distributing the images. His computer and other equipment were seized and will undergo additional forensic analysis to uncover any additional images. Dube will be charged with three counts of transmission of child pornography and one count of possession, and additional charges may be added at a later date. He was booked into the Pinellas County Jail where he is being held on no bond. The case will be prosecuted by the Attorney General’s Office. The majority of the agencies involved in the operations are members of the Attorney General’s CyberCrime Task Force in Tampa.
