City Honors the Largo Packers

LARGO - In 2008, the Largo High School Varsity Football Team completed a 9-1 regular season, winning the District Championship and winning the Regional Championship for the second consecutive year. The Packers then proceeded to the State Semi-finals where they competed and lost to the 2007/2008 State Champs, St. Thomas Aquinas, the number one ranked High School Team in the Country, according to ESPN.com.

The Mayor and City Commission recognized the 2008 Largo Packers Varsity Football team for their great teamwork, commitment, and outstanding academic and athletic achievement of these student athletes at the January 20th City Commission Meeting. City staff also honored the Packers by participating in a blue and gold day on Tuesday, January 20th.
