
The Leepa-Rattner Museum of Art Hosts its 2009 Benefit Gala CarnavalTARPON SPRINGS – The Leepa-Rattner Museum of Art’s 2009 fundraising event Carnaval will be on Saturday, February 28, from 6:30 to 11 p.m. in the museum. Carnaval, with all its fun, fantasy, color and mystique, is coming to Tarpon Springs to support 20th century art and the Leepa-Rattner Museum of Art. Enjoy salsa lessons and tango demonstrations while you listen to the stimulating sounds of Latin music by the acclaimed band Caliente. Dine on delicious South American cuisine accompanied by fine wine in the presence of Carnaval-themed murals designed by local artists and St. Petersburg College art students. All of the proceeds raised will be used for ongoing support of the museum. The cost per person is $125 and cocktail or themed attire is appropriate. The Leepa-Rattner Museum of Art is located just west of U.S. Highway 19 at 600 Klosterman Road, on the Tarpon Springs Campus of St. Petersburg College. Museum hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday, with extended hours until 9 p.m. on Thursday. Sunday hours are from 1-5 p.m. Admission is $5 for adults, $4 for seniors and free to children and students with ID.
