Raise in Electric RatesTo everyone who has Progress Energy: Please be aware that you are now paying over 25% more for your electricity than customers of Florida Power and Light Co. We can try to have this increase overturned by filing a complaint with the Florida Public Service Commission. It is very easy; all you have to do is call 1-800-342-3552. You don’t have to give them your name, but it may be better to do so. There will be a meeting in March, so the sooner you do this the better. They have had thousands of calls about this increase, so every call will be counted. This call will only take a couple of minutes of your time but could save you an average of $50 or more per month. Please, please, make the call and e-mail everyone you know in the State of Florida. Even if you do not have Progress Energy, you could help someone else. Progress Energy has hundreds of thousands of customers in this state and all of them could benefit from you e-mailing them and making the call.
