Junior League of Clearwater-Dunedin Announces 2008-09 Grant Recipients

CLEARWATER - The Junior League of Clearwater-Dunedin, Inc., (JLCD) is proud to announce the winners of their 2008-09 Education Grants. Winners were selected from a field of applicants from Title 1 schools in Upper Pinellas & West Pasco counties. Congratulations to Heather Rabon, Monett Rice, and Angela Johnson-Drummond of Kings Highway Elementary, April McKinley of North Ward Elementary and Rita Browning of Tarpon Springs Elementary. “The Jr. League of Clearwater-Dunedin has once again made a difference in our community.  After a detailed selection process, the League contributed $500 to each of five projects in our local elementary schools,” said JLCD Community Advisory Board member, Bud Elias. “These five projects focus on reading opportunities, which often encourages family involvement during after school hours.   It is gratifying to be part of an organization that is willing to put its money where it really counts – in our school age children.”
