
Colon Cancer and Moffitt Cancer Center Host Colorectal Cancer Education Program in TampaLeading voices in the fight against colorectal cancer, the Colon Cancer Alliance (CCA) and Moffitt Cancer Center are hosting an educational seminar called “Conversations About Colorectal Cancer.” Saturday, March 14, 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Moffitt Cancer Center, Stabile Research Building,12902 Magnolia Drive,Tampa. The goal is to raise awareness about the importance of an open dialogue between doctor and patient and to provide patients with resources to initiate and maintain these important discussions with their doctors. Leading area colorectal cancer professionals will present information and options on treatment strategies. Attendees will also the opportunity to participate in peer-to-peer support forums. The interactive seminar is part of a series of free educational events held throughout the country in 2009. These seminars promote a sense of hope and empowerment by offering information about the latest treatment advances, and giving patients and caregivers the opportunity to listen and support one another in their fight against colorectal cancer. All colorectal cancer patients, survivors, caregivers, family and friends are invited to attend. Nurses and other health care professionals are also encouraged to attend.
