Welcoming supporters and other visitors to the RCS Food Bank Open House on February 21 are (from left) volunteer Nancy Currey, director of development Lisa Matzner and administrative assistant Annette Shepard. The event featuring music, clowns, family tours and a free cookout was held to celebrate completion of the facility's recent interior renovations, which include a new entrance, large interview room and colorful children's room. The food bank, which is operated by Religious Community Services, has been feeding the hungry throughout the county for 26 years. It currently serves over 6,000 people each month.
The new children's room at the recently renovated RCS Food Bank in Clearwater features brightly painted walls and curtains highlighting a variety of sea life, along with boxes of games and toys and a television set. Looking in from the hallway are (from left) longtime volunteer Ethel Stephenson, RCS president and CEO Duggan Cooley and volunteer Dave Wolters. Stephenson has served as a volunteer for the past 11 years. Wolters has helped out at the facility for over five years.
