
Junior League of Clearwater-Dunedin Hosts Foster Child SummitCLEARWATER - The Junior League of Clearwater-Dunedin facilitated a foster care summit on Tuesday, February 17 at the Hale Center in Dunedin to identify solutions and provide assistance to children in and children aging out of foster care in Pinellas and Pasco counties. “We have selected to focus our volunteer efforts to positively impact foster care in Pasco and Pinellas counties” says, Felicia Leonard, President of the Junior League of Clearwater-Dunedin. “This summit brings important stakeholders to one table to discuss current issues and to identify potential solutions. Based on the results of this meeting, our members will now begin implementation of the identified solutions.” Over 35 participants came across the Bay Area to join forces with the Junior League to discuss the challenges and solutions to be implemented over the next three to five years. Participants included representatives from governmental agencies and other non-profit organizations that provide services to foster children. The Junior League of Clearwater-Dunedin is comprised of 500 volunteers that are committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers.
