
City of Clearwater Announces 2009 Winter Neighborhood and Homes of the QuarterCLEARWATER. – The Grovewood Neighborhood and four area homeowners have received the Winter 2009 Neighborhood and Home of the Quarter Awards. The neighborhood and homeowners Linda Baldwin; Elizabeth Wells; Michael and Nanci O’Rourke; and David and Sharon Cote were honored at the March 5 City Council meeting. Representatives of the selected neighborhood accepted a certificate, and a Neighborhood of the Quarter sign will be placed at the development’s entrance. A photo of the neighborhood’s entrance will be displayed in the lobby at Clearwater City Hall. Selected homeowners will receive certificates of appreciation, Home of the Quarter plaques, and signs to display in their front yards. The Neighborhood and Home Recognition Program celebrates the uniqueness of Clearwater’s many neighborhoods and its residents and encourages the strengthening of the community through pride in ownership and community involvement. The city’s Neighborhood of the Quarter award honors a neighborhood that demonstrates one or more of the following: a decrease in neighborhood crime and code violations, an increase in neighborhood involvement through community activities and neighborhood sustainability. The award for Home of the Quarter recognizes property owners who sustain or make significant improvements to their properties and enhance their neighborhoods and community.
