
American Association of University Women-Mid Pinellas to Host BrunchThe American Association of University Women-Mid Pinellas will feature Dr. Susan MacManus at their annual Arts and Letters Brunch to be held at the Clearwater Country Club on Sunday, March 29th at 1 p.m. The Brunch is a fundraiser for the charities of the Club that include scholarships for middle-school girls for the summer programs at the St. Pete Science Center and the Clearwater Marine Aquarium as well as sponsorship of a student each year in the Women on the Way Program at St. Petersburg Collect, Clearwater Campus. Dr. Susan MacManus is a distinguished professor of public opinion and political science in the Department of Government and International Affairs at the University of South Florida. MacManus is nationally renowned for her expert and incisive commentary on public opinion and politics. She has appeared on ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, CNN, PBS, C-SPAN, MSNBC, BBC, NHK (Tokyo) and Australian Television NPR and in various print media. During the 2000, 2002 and 2004 elections she served as the political analyst for WFLA News Radio. MacManus headed up the Health Services Policy Transition Team for Florida Governor Jeb Bush and was appointed chair of the Florida Elections Commission by the Governor (1999-2003). Bush also appointed her to his Council of Economic Advisors. MacManus routinely designs and analyzes surveys of public opinion on a wide range of issues for various local governments, think tanks and the media.
