Rives, Three Council Members Take Office in Belleair Beachby Leo CoughlinBELLEAIR BEACH - Mayor Lynn Rives and three other members of the City Council were sworn in Monday night by City Clerk Patti Gentry for new terms. Joining Rives in the ceremony were Rob Baldwin, Kathy Mortensen and Stan Sofer. All those sworn in were unopposed in the March 10 election. Mortensen was chosen as vice mayor. Other members of the council are Mitch Krach, Richard Crowl and David Dumville. The only other business at Monday’s special meeting was the approval authorizing City Manager Nancy McCollum to enter into an agreement with Southern Telephone to provide and install voice and data cabling for the new City Hall. The cost is not to exceed $14,500. The council’s next scheduled meeting is April 6.
