They play a wide range of 50's, 60's, 70's and 80's music with contemporary songs on request. Gaining in popularity, a majority of the station's audience listens from their computers by logging on to: www.wkid96.7fm.com "We get really good feedback from our listeners and people call and they talk about the story that we are currently reading. We don't know how many people listen on the FM radio, just on the website which is about 5,000 to 10,000 listeners on the Internet," said a spokesperson for the crew. "We are all proud to be crew members of 96.7 WKID and we really love all of the attention and meeting new people and having a fun place to go to after school as well as having some really cool equipment to work with." Two dozen kids operate the equipment, dj and conceive of content and programming. "Our equipment consists of a: DITEK total studio surge protection, RAINWISE MKIII professional weather station, 25mw Ramsey fm-100 transmitter, comet antenna, Behringer MX-9000 mixer, Denon DN-D4500 dual cd player, Samson D-1500 spectrum analyzer, 2 Samson CO1 mics, 1 EV N/D 767 mic, 1 Shure SM-58 mic, RainWise MK III weather station, Midland weather radio, uniden BC-9000 scanner, Geek Squad UPS, Dell computer for internet, editing and news, and an Adobe Audition editing program.
