Our Congress in Action - Needs Your Reaction!1. Are these the “Line by Line through the budget” elimination of un-necessary expenditures we were promised? Monday, one day after North Korea launched their missile; our Administration announced their plans to drastically cut the Missile Defense Budget down to about 9 Billion Dollars. Only 3 more Raptor F-22s will be built, the Airborne Laser program will be nearly eliminated and the funds for ground base Interceptor Missiles in Alaska will also be severely cut back. (19 Billion has been set aside to collect our medical records and put them into a central database). 2. Congress has just passed the Congressional Budget for fiscal year 2010 (S.C.Res.13): CRS Summary on the www.thomas.gov website; Section 316, under Subtitle B: Other Provisions: “Declares that the levels assumed in this budget resolution: (1) allow the gross federal debt of the nation to rise by $4.960 trillion from FY2009 to FY2014; (2) allow such debt to rise by $16,200 on every U.S. citizen from FY2009 to FY2014; and (3) project $700 billion of the Social Security surplus that will be spent over FY2010 – FY2014.” http://www.usdebtclock.org/ c 3. When Congress returns from recess on April 20th, they will consider The “Card-Check” Legislation, the “Employee Free Choice Act,” that has already been introduced in both the Senate and House. Among other things, “Card-Check” takes from employees their rights to a secret ballot in deciding whether unions should come into, remain in or be kicked out of their workplaces. In passing this legislation, a hand-delivered card that a union-rep may deliver to the home or workplace of an employee, is substituted for the employee’s secret ballot. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=afjp4Cx-3W0&feature=related (Each of these are less than a minute long) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iH0SmNFfFTQ&feature=related Congress is on recess and is probably back home in your state. Call them, write them letters, fax them, email them. When the “Silent Majority” finally speaks, Congress has to listen. We ROARED about reducing the amount that would be tax deductible for charitable giving AND the Senate was forced to respond, nearly every one of them signing a Senate Amendment not to allow this to happen. Read the above three items that need your immediate response to your US Senators and Congressmen. If not you . . . . . then who? Set time aside on April 15th, to attend a local “Tax Tea Party” in your area. http://taxdayteaparty.com/ These are not Democrat or Republican sponsored, these are simply Grass-Roots, Silent-Majority, Americans, who are unhappy about the way our money is being spent and ask why we are being taxed without representation.
