Marina ParkingI recently wrote the City Council and just had phone contact from Mr. Gibson that marina parking was just too difficult to solve. They, or he, seemed intent on purchasing property when we could utilize what we already own. Gibson mentioned a parking expert and I asked him to get another opinion as we are always doing for downtown solutions. He was not receptive to that. We must do something through John Doran to use this property instead of buying very expensive property. Any suggestions? - Bernie Brennan

Note to Council last week We have been residents of Clearwater Beach for over thirteen years. The parking situation on the beach was never considered a priority and now with Beachwalk it has become a liability. We have commented many times about the viability of the city owned property at the Marina. For whatever reason the past and present Council, with the exception of John Doran, seem to ignore the obvious solution to our parking problem. We understand the approach will be troublesome but your selling of this property will also have this approach problem. If you are really short of funds as everyone states publicly, why is this even an issue? We hope you reconsider the Marina location and finally solve this on-going problem.
