Recs and Reads

By Anne McKay Garris

It's time to gather at Mandalay Park (next to the fire station on Mandalay Avenue) and enjoy one of the most delightful celebrations of the year -- the little folks having an Easter Egg hunt.  Be there at 6 p.m. on Friday, April 10, with your children, grandchildren, or the neighbor’s children and their baskets.

What you really won't want to miss is -- the age division for "adult" which will take you back to your childhood.  I'm not sure I'd want to go there, however, because, as the youngest of six cousins, I seldom found many eggs at my grandmother's Easter Egg hunts.  I just stood there embarrassed while the adults insisted that my sister and cousins "share." They did, with obvious reluctance.  Nevertheless, I really love Easter Egg hunts.  There's just something about the excitement!

There is going to be a special meeting of the Friends of the Clearwater Beach Recreation Center and Library next week.  If you have any suggestions for family programs you would like to see happen at the Center, please e-mail us at recsandreads@earthlink.com right away.

And, we're still looking for volunteers to help with the Wii programs on Wednesday mornings.  All you have to do is be willing to volunteer.  Teaching you how to do it is our job.  Let us know at the above e-mail address.

See you at the swimming pool!
