At left above is the painting, "Red Pears and Basket", by Jane Mihalik which captured the Best of Show award in the 34th Annual International Miniature Art Show held earlier this year at the Dunedin Fine Art Center. At right is the judge's second choice for Best of Show, "Frutta E Verdure Fresche" by Judith E. Johnson. Other artists receiving recognition were Richard William Haynes (Excellence In All Entries), Rebecca Latham (Best Work By A Young Artist), David Drummond (Best Work By A First Time Entrant) and Rachelle Siegrist (Best Traditional Portrait Miniature). The works of Dana Lee Thompson and Tracy Hall were selected for the MASF Permanent Collection. A round of applause, please, for Belleair Country Club's newly crowned 2009 men's senior club golf champion MIke Chapman and ladies' senior club golf champion Gerrie Kelly ... Speaking of Belleair Country Club, Ed Garland deserves a tip of the hat for winning this year's golf croquet singles championship.
