Junior League of Clearwater-Dunedin Announces Moonlight in Monte Carlo Fundraiser

CLEARWATER - The Junior League of Clearwater-Dunedin (JLCD) is proud to present Moonlight in Monte Carlo on Saturday, April 25, from 7 to 11 p.m.  This elegant casino night fundraiser will be held at the Harborview Center in downtown Clearwater and will feature delectable fare from local restaurants, gaming tables, live entertainment, and dancing.  Reservations can be made now, and proceeds support the local community through the Junior League’s efforts.

In 1972 the Dunedin Service League hosted Monte Carlo Night to benefit their new signature project, the Dunedin Fine Arts Center, and today’s League is proud to put a new spin on an old tradition by offering its own Moonlight in Monte Carlo.  Tuxedoed dealers will transport attendees to a French Riviera-style casino, featuring Black Jack, Roulette, Craps, and Texas Hold ‘Em.  Musical entertainment will be provided by the Don Juceam Orchestra - a ten-piece band, led by Frank Sinatra impersonator Don Juceam.  Food selections from Tampa Bay’s finest restaurants will be plentiful, including dishes from E&E Stakeout Grill, Guppy’s on the Beach, Mystic Fish Seafood Grill & Bar, Tucson’s Grill & Cantina, Bellini Restaurant & Lounge, Island Way Grill, Rumba Island Bar & Grill, Salt Rock Grill, and Marlin Darlin’.

The evening will also include a Chocolate Extravaganza featuring chocolate dessert creations presented by our participating restaurants.  Each creation will be judged based on originality, creativity, presentation, and taste.  The League is honored to have notable community leaders acting as judges for this portion of the event.  Margaret Word Burnside and Aaron Fodiman, Dawn Cooper and Gwen Hoover, The Honorable Robert N. Hackworth and Gwynne Hackworth, the Honorable Frank Hibbard and Teresa Hibbard, and Mary K. and John Wilson will judge the Chocolate Extravaganza prior to the event beginning.

Attendees will be able to view the winners and sample all of the chocolate creations.

Proceeds raised from this event will fund the JLCD signature community project, ANGELS.  ANGELS is an acronym for Alliance to Nurture, Grow, and Enhance Life Skills for Foster Families in North Pinellas and Pasco Counties.  Sponsors of Moonlight in Monte Carlo include Spencer International Advisors, Inc., The Longley Group, Inc., Bollenback and Forret, CPA’s, Georgine and Anthony Brancato, The Hospice of the Florida Suncoast, Felicia Leonard and Bruce Dennis, and Amy and Gary Connors.

To make reservations, please call JLCD Office Manager Becky Cole at 727-738-JLCD or e-mail jlclwdun@aol.com.  Admission starts at $75.
