MOSI Celebrates Earth Day and Arbor Day

Help MOSI plant gardens April 24, 9:30 a.m.–2 p.m. Thanks to a grant from Fiskars Project Orange Thumb®, MOSI is seeking volunteers to help plant nine thematic gardens in the Historic Tree Grove. Pre-registered volunteers will receive an exhibits-only admission ticket* to MOSI. Interested participants should contact kristeng@mosi.org or call (813) 987-6357.

On MOSI Green Day, April 25 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m., help plant trees, cleanup roadsides and forests, and learn about Tampa Bay natural resources. Green Day volunteers will help clean Fowler Ave, plant 50-100 pines in MOSI Back Woods and fix plow lines damaged by a brushfire. Vendors will display information about conservation and green initiatives.

The Children’s Science Center at MOSI is the largest children’s science center in the nation. Disasterville, featuring WeatherQuest, combines education and 10,000 square feet of interactive exhibits on the science behind natural disasters.  MOSI’s newest permanent exhibition, The Amazing You, explores the intricate world of the beginning of life, childhood, and adolescent developmental life stages.
