Clearwater, Largo Groups Celebrate National Quilting DayPhotos/text by SANDI FAHY
Members of Hidden Stitches, a Clearwater chapter of The Applique Society, pose for a photo at Heritage Village, where they gathered last month to celebrate National Quilting Day with members of other quilting clubs from Largo, St. Petersburg and Palm Harbor through exhibits, lectures and demonstrations open to the public. Hidden Stitches' display featured applique quilts. Pictured, from left, are Lynda Weingart, Sue Lorenz, Pat Osinga and club president Toddy Sumsky. The group meets monthly at the Christian Outreach Center in Clearwater. New members are welcome. Call 517-9348 for more information.
Among the members of the Largo Cracker Quilters taking part in National Quilting Day at Heritage Village last month are (from left) Nancy Nelson, Marilyn Allison and Janice Wadas. The group, which displayed miniature quilts and wall hangings that day, meets weekly at St. Paul United Methodist Church. For further information, call 441-2453.
