Animal Lovers Invited to Bring Pets to Clearwater Pet FestivalCLEARWATER - Clearwater Downtown Development Board’s Fourth Annual Clearwater Pet Festival will bring some of the community’s most competitive pets, owners and animal lovers to Clearwater’s Cleveland Street District, May 9 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event takes place on Cleveland Street between East and Fort Harrison Avenues, and features contests such as a pet parade with prizes for various categories and puppy races. The Pinellas County Animobile, a state-of-the-art mobile surgical unit staffed with skilled and experienced veterinarians and veterinary technicians, will attend this year’s event. Rescue groups and vendors that offer unique items for pets and people will also be on hand. In addition, the Suncoast Animal League will microchip your pet for a small fee. “This year’s event has been reorganized and completely rebranded,” said Anne Fogarty France, Downtown Programs Coordinator. “It’s always a great draw for the Cleveland Street District and this year will serve as a wrap-up to National Pet Week, May 3 to May 9. All attendees should make sure to stop by the Hedgehog Rescue booth and see these unique animals.” The Spring Pet Fair is an annual promotional event sponsored by the Downtown Development Board to showcase downtown businesses in the Cleveland Street District.
