Cooters Raw Bar & Restaurant Invites All to Three-Day BashCLEARWATER BEACH – Cooters Raw Bar & Restaurant, established in 1993, is kicking off its 16th year anniversary with a three-day tent party for friends, visitors, and area residents. The weekend event will include live music, special theme menus, food and drink specials, free prizes, a Corn Hole Tournament, games for the kids, and a raffle for a 42” flat screen television. Profits from the raffle will benefit the Clearwater Marine Aquarium. The weekend bash will kick off at 6:00 p.m., Friday, May 16, with a pig roast, live music by a local band, The Bottom Feeders, and free prizes from Cooters throughout the evening. The Bacardi Girls and the Red Bull Team will be circulating throughout the restaurant and the big tent with free promotional give-aways. Saturday’s festivities start at 6:00 p.m. with Cooters special clambake, which features steamed clams, mussels, oysters, shrimp, sausage, potatoes and corn on the cob. The Bottom Feeders will take the stage again at 6:00 p.m. and Cooters’ staff will hold a drawing for free prizes every hour. Prizes include gift certificates for hotel accommodations, tickets to Rays’ games, boat excursions, a chaise lounge, boom box, barbecue grill, T-shirts, hats and more. The Bud girls and The Jagermeister Crew will provide drink specials and additional free-give-aways. On Sunday, Cooters has planned a “backyard barbecue,” complete with barbecued chicken, baked beans and traditional barbecue fare. Special events for kids start at 3:00 p.m. and include a clown, Cooters’ turtle mascot, face painting, games and a hoola-hoop contest. Kids under 12 can enjoy free hot dogs, funnel cakes and balloons. The Bottom Feeders Bank will play from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The drawings for prizes will continue on Sunday, with the final drawing for the 42” TV scheduled for 7:00 p.m. “The party is our way of saying thank you to all of our loyal guests who have visited Cooters over the last 16 years” said Carol Mears, Owner of Cooters. We’re hoping to have a record donation this year.” Cooters (whose name originates from a type of Southern Turtle) is selling raffle tickets for a chance to win a 42” flat screen TV, with proceed profits being donated to the Aquarium. Raffle tickets are $5.00 each or three (3) for $10.00, and can be purchased at both Cooters and the Clearwater Marine Aquarium between now and May 17th. Winner needs not be present to win.
