Dunedin Triathlon to be Held at Honeymoon Island State ParkThe Rotary Club of Dunedin will host the 6th Annual Dunedin Triathlon at Honeymoon Island State Park on Sunday, June 14th. Athletes from across Florida and the U.S. are invited to compete in the race which includes a quarter mile swim, a 12 mile bike, and a 5K run. This year will feature a new course layout that includes a new start and finish line as well as an improved swim area. The course will extend through many parts of the island park, which is known to be one of the most picturesque beaches in the country. Participants may register by age group or select from one of the Athena, Clydesdale or Elite categories. Relay teams are welcome to participate and can consist of two or three members. Awards will be presented 5 deep into each category. The first wave begins at 7:30 a.m. and participant and spectators are advised to arrive early. Proceeds from the event will support the service efforts of the Rotary Club of Dunedin including the funding of college scholarships, supporting local literacy programs, and participating in District and International Grant programs.
