
Abilities Guild Installs New BoardOn May 1, at the Belleair Country Club, the Abilities Guild installed the incoming Board of Directors for the year 2009-2010 at a dinner party. Melissa Thornton of the Abilities Foundation gave the oath of office to the following: President, Bill DeManbro; first vice president, Pat Brant; second vice president, Al Tower; treasurer, Roger Ormerod; assistant treasurer, Dave Gauler; corresponding secretary, Barbara Hoskinson. Not present was Sherrie Morton-Tetrick, recording secretary. Abilities Guild out-going president, Bill Hollingsworth presented a check to the Abilities Foundation in the amount of $41,300, the funds raised during the year 2008-2009 by the Guild. All monies from Guild fundraising events support the Abilities Foundation in its efforts of job training and placement, housing, health and recreational help for disabled persons. Speaker for the evening was Kim Dittman, Project Coordinator, who appraised the members and guests of new program - HS/HT, High School/HighTech - a program designed for disabled youth ages 14-22 which explores job and/or post-secondary education opportunities in technology-related careers/opportunities. Rounding out the evening was a tribute to the out-going president, Bill Hollingsworth, for his 4-year tenure as president and for the many, many years and volunteer hours he has devoted to Abilities Guild.
