Pinellas County drop off locations:
Operation Medicine Cabinet will give residents a chance to bring unused or expired prescriptions, controlled substances and over-the-counter medications to locations in their community for safe disposal. Operation Medicine Cabinet is one way that the community can actively reduce prescription drug abuse-by removing the source from their homes. This program provides a safe way of destroying pharmaceuticals through incineration, which environmental specialists consider the best method. By burning the pharmaceuticals, as opposed to flushing or sending medication to the landfill, we can avoid polluting the environment.
