IEYC Members Boat to BrunchPhoto/text by Fay Nicholson
It was a glorious Sunday. The weather was fantastic. Members and guests were greeted by the committee with drinks at the dock. The Brunch tables were laden with food that was absolutely delicious and plentiful. For some it was the first time visiting the new, grand, 9 Million Dollar Club House at Treasure Island. The trip down the intracoastal showed "Why We Live In Florida" and why they all belong to a special group of friends - The Island Estates Yacht Club. Forty-one members and four guests attended, arriving by both land and sea. Those traveling by sea were treated as royalty, having an awesome escort along the route. Char Lynn and Ed Daughtry chaired the event. And, with the assistance of Butterfly, Laurelee Bernard and a committee of Dianne and Chuck Stebbins, Mary and Eddie O'Connor, John and Sue Speck, Jim and Pattie Ostrosky, Barbara and Richie Keast, Arlene and Ray Cutro, Carolyn and Fred Teague and Jeannette and Ed Ziegler, it proved that with great leadership, a plan comes together nicely and makes the day a sucess. Captains Fred Teague, John Speck and Ed Daughtry invited members to join them in the trip down the waterway to Treasure Island aboard Celebration, Grand Adventure and Water Baby. These boats are spacious and beautiful. Door prizes were given and the lucky winners received some useful prizes - thanks to Laurelee for picking out just the right items.
