
Tarpon Springs High School Leadership Conservatory for the Arts Marching Band Receives International AwardThe Tarpon Springs High School Outdoor Performance Ensemble (marching band) received the John Philip Sousa Foundation's International Sudler Shield Award from the Jury of the Sudler Shield at a public presentation on Friday, May 15, at Tarpon Springs High School. The Sudler Shield is an international award recognizing high school and youth marching bands of world class excellence. The Sudler Shield is endowed by Louis and Virginia Sudler and administered by the John Philip Sousa Foundation "to establish and support international standards of excellence in musical performance, marching execution, innovation, choreography, and show design for high school or youth marching bands. The Sudler Shield Award was presented by Dr. W. Dale Warren of the University of Arkansas who serves as chairman of the Sudler Shield. The event included a concert presentation featuring the ensembles of the Tarpon Springs Leadership Conservatory for the Arts.
