TBSA Countryside Competes in ISI 50th Anniversary Competition in OrlandoThe TBSA Countryside team, that skates at Westfield Shoppingtown Countryside, WON the overall team championship of the Ice Skating Institute's (ISI) 50th Anniversary Skating Championships at the RDV Sportsplex Ice Den in Orlando, last weekend. With 94 skaters representing the Tampa Bay area, the team competed against 43 other teams from 14 different states and one foreign country (Manila, Philippines). The Production team earned a silver medal in the category Large Production for their rendition of Camelot, entitled, "Skate a Lot." Unlike individuals and other TBSA teams, the Production Team only had 6 practice sessions at the mall, and two sessions on big ice (at Oldsmar) to prepare their program. Because of the Production Team's success, and most importantly the fun and camaraderie these skaters developed, TBSA Countryside is planning another Production for the next ISI Artistic Challenge in Fort Myers in December. THAT is what youth community sports is all about! In competition events, Production Team skaters fared very well.
