Recs and ReadsBy Anne McKay GarrisYou are invited to a party. Better yet, a pool party. Yes! You! The Clearwater Beach Recreation Complex is having a pool party on Friday evening, June 12, from 7 to 8:45 p.m. It's a party for all ages. There will be pool games, music and pizza for all. Think about it, grandparents will have a place to take their grandchildren, or, if you are missing your grandchildren, you can enjoy participating with others. Parents can enjoy a visit with each other while their children are being entertained by someone else for a change. The cost is minimal, only $3 with a play pass, $4 with a recreation card and $6 otherwise. Children under 8 must have an adult guardian with them. That's not all. There is still time to sign up for swim lessons and the swim team. Both of these are in two week sessions. You can sign up now for the rest of the current session, or sign up for the next session, starting on Monday, June 22. Both swim lessons and swim team activities are held from Monday through Thursday; swim team from 6:00 to 6:45 in the evening, and swim lessons from 9:00 to 9:45 a.m. Meanwhile, over at the library you have a better chance of getting time on one of the computers now that so many of our residents are on vacation, and our winter visitors have gone home. The Clearwater Beach Branch Library is a pleasant outing where you will find, a peaceful atmosphere, an excellent selection of books, a beautiful view and a very helpful librarian. With a library and recreation center so convenient, there's no need for anyone to be bored on Clearwater Beach. And, if you haven't yet reviewed the large selection of DVD's you can check out, you are really missing a treat.
