Leepa Rattner Welcomes IRB Plein Aire Cottage ArtistsThe Plein Aire Cottage Artists have been invited to exhibit at Leepa Rattner Museum of Art 600 Klosterman Road, Tarpon Springs. The Venue is the Focus Gallery - Opening June 20th and running through August 31, 2009. The Plein Aire Cottage Artists of Indian Rocks Beach are three members who share their creative talents to document the rapidly disappearing historic cottages along the Gulf Coast. The fashionable artists usually in flowing skirts and beautiful hand made jewelry and straw hats are often spotted on Gulf Blvd, three members, three friends and one Vision - Mary Rose Holmes, Violetta Shtymeyzen and Helen Tilston. Their interest and passion in history was acknowledged in 2007 when they received the Florida State Preservation Award, the only time artists have ever been awarded this prestigious prize (normally reserved for architects). Leepa Rattner will feature six trip tychs of Indian Rocks Beach - one panel painted by each artist. The trip tych,"Visit Indian Rocks Beach" will be on the cover of the 2010 Plein Aire Cottage Artists calendar will also be featured in the exhibition. The calendar, a limited edition, to support Indian Rocks Beach Library and Historic Museum will be released in August 2009. The Plein Aire Cottage Artists paintings are always at Guppy's Restaurant Indian Rocks Beach.
