Recs and ReadsBy Anne McKay Garris"Worry," said my father, "is like a rocking chair. It gives you something to do but it doesn't get you anywhere." "Nonsense," responds my grandmother. "Look at all the things I worried about that didn't happen." Your Friends Of The Clearwater Beach Recreation Center And Library (that's FRIBCL for short) have been worried about finding programs for our recreation center and library that might interest you. It wasn't easy to figure out what people wanted, nor to find people to lead the programs. (Except the Writer's Group which is going swimmingly.) Now, however, things are moving into high gear. Coming in July will be Computer Classes for the computer semi-literate, illiterate and the rest of us. And, possibly also in July, we are looking forward to Greek dancing and ballroom dancing as soon as it can be arranged. Ballroom dancing is what us old folks called what is now known as "swing dancing." Only it's a little slower. The instructor has taught for us at our Clearwater Kids Week program, so I know he does it well. Beginning September 3, we are looking forward to an unique new exercise program, called "hooping exercise." Meantime, enjoy the pool and the quiet time in the library to while away the warm days of summer. Yes, warm. It's all relative. My friend in Texas reports 105 in the shade.
