Article on Police ChiefIt really bothers me that Mr. Craig got involved in a disciplinary matter between Chief of Police Aradi and Officer Citrano. Did the punishment of Officer Citrano fit the crime? I think it did. But who is Mr. Craig? An expert on punishment fitting crime? I don't think so. Termination is "industrial Capital Punishment" and as an expert in "disciplinary actions" in the aerospace business for 36 years I used that power very carefully! I didn't second guess and override my staff. Now we have a problem between Mr. Craig and Chief Aradi, and that's a shame. Our Police Chief's records over the 60 years I've lived in Largo have been outstanding. Certainly disciplinary action of Officer Citrano was called for, but to give a long service Chief of Police a 10-day suspension on a judgment call is absurd. Bad judgment was used by two individuals in this matter. Officer Citrano and Mr. Craig, not Chief Aradi. I have never met any of these people. Dear: Commission: I would like to request that you review this matter toward the possibility of removing this blemish from the Chief's record. Thank you in advance for your attention to this matter. - Capt. Jack Berthy
