Cultural Center - e-mail sent to Largo Mayor and CommissionersMy name is Charlotte Ernest, I do volunteer work for the Largo community and I have a concern I would like to address to you. When I started ushering at the Center there was no food or beverages, except bottled water allowed in the Tonne Theater. Now it has been mandated that food and beverages will be allowed in the theater. I find this unsatisfactory for many reasons which I would like to list for your consideration. First of all, this is a theater not a motion picture show where you can indulge in anything you wish to eat and drink with no thought to the mess you create in doing so. Secondly, if I understood correctly, there is a possibility the Tonne Theater will be getting a face lift sometime in the future including new carpeting among other things. If we allow food, etc. in there now, how will we ever control the damage that will be inflicted then? What a waste when the city is trying so hard to keep the budget under control. Lastly, where do we start to teach our young people respect and appreciation for the finer things in life? - Charlotte Ernest
