Belleair Garage Sale to Benefit RCS Food PantryOn Saturday, July 25, a garage sale will be held to benefit the RCS Food Pantry. For the second year in a row neighbors have pulled their treasures together to raise money for RCS Food Pantry. The event will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 25, at the cul de sac near South Garden Circle, Belleair. Items will be priced from $1 to $20 with some furniture ranging from $25 - $100. Treasures for sale include: children's clothes, children's toys, electronics, tools, lumber, household goods, furniture, adult clothing, decorations, fixtures, bicycles and more. For the most part items will be priced in groups, $1, $2, $5, $10, $15 and $20. "Come looking for a deal but don't come to haggle us. There are countless families without food in our community and we need to raise as much money as possible," said neighbor Amy Maguire. Last year the Maguire family matched the amount raised and are hoping to do it again this year. The RCS Food Pantry serves over 500 families a week and over 100 babies each month. The supplies are drastically low and the demand growing higher every day. Please see the wish list for suggestions on food donations. Anyone wishing to bring food donations to the garage sale are encouraged to do so. RCS Food Drive Wish List: peanut butter, canned fruit, canned meat (tuna, chicken, ham, etc.), spaghetti and spaghetti sauce (canned preferred), beef stew, spaghettios, soup, skillet dinners, rice and beans, Jiffy cornbread muffin mix, canned vegetables, baby food and formula (12-oz. powdered Good Start most needed). Items such as peanut butter and canned items should be purchased in the regular standard size.
