Recs and ReadsBy Anne McKay Garris"Summer time, and the living is easy." At least it can be in the Clearwater Islands. If the weather is too hot for you to head out for an adventure. Stop by our jewel of a library and pick up a couple of adventure books so you can travel and enjoy excitement without leaving the air conditioning of your own home. You can find everything from the British Navy sagas made famous by the movie, "Master And Commander," or you can opt for lighter fare in Robin Gunn's series on the Sister Chicks who make their cheerful way around Australia, France, Hawaii and a dozen other vacation spots. For an adventure that will make your summer memorable, sign up for the computer courses now available at the Clearwater Beach Rec Center. At the July 14 session, you will do hands on learning about how to use the settings in windows, as well as making your way around the control panel and taskbar. With only six people in the class, you will have plenty of opportunity to say, "Wait a minute, I didn't get it. Please explain that again." The cost is from $15 to $25 a session depending on what kind of Rec Center pass you have. Meeting time is from 10 a.m. to Noon on Tuesdays, from now through September 8. Jane Goodall and her chimps will be the stars of the Films At The Beach program on Monday July 13, at 10 a.m. at the Beach Library. Bring a friend and enjoy the adventures of the "chimponauts," Ham and Enos, who were first in space from the United States in 1961. For family adventure, you won't want to miss the fun and games of Frog Friday, at the Beach Recreation Center Pool, from 7 to 8:45 p.m. On Clearwater Beach, the living is not only easy -- it's enjoyable.
