Email sent to Largo Mayor and CommissionersI read once again that you are thinking of raising taxes. I read with interest that some people are saying to raise taxes, and to not cut services. These must be very lucky people to have the same income, or better this year, than previous years. I don't know anyone in those circumstances. Everyone I know from myself (self-employed with a restaurant), to my employees, to my customers have all had to cut back, because our income is less this year. I keep hearing that the millage will be higher, but taxes will be lower. I don't believe that. With the SOH cap most everyone I know will be paying more this year than last, if taxes go up. Only people who bought a home in the previous few years will see their taxes going down. Instead of closing parks, libraries, or laying off low level employees, maybe we could cut the salaries, or the pensions, or even reduce the number of Chiefs, or sub chiefs. You have some hard decisions, but if it comes to me, and my friends, and employees surviving, or going to a park, the choice is easy. PLEASE DON'T RAISE TAXES! Steve Trizis P.S. Also keep in mind the other taxing agencies are raising taxes .
