RCS Food Bank: SEVEN Days from ClosureOngoing Food Drive M-F 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., open Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.RCS Food Bank, (located at 700 Druid Road, Clearwater) has assisted more than 1,600 people this week with emergency food assistance. The program is assisting between 335-558 individuals each day. The shelves of the RCS Food Bank contain barely enough food to last the next seven days at the current rate of need. Without the urgent and sustained assistance of the public, the organization will be forced to close its doors at the end of next week and wait until supplies are sufficiently restocked. The program advisory committee met to discuss various strategies for service reduction and has agreed to help as many people as food supplies will allow and not restrict its services to a certain number of individuals daily. The RCS Food Bank needs immediate donations of: pasta sauce, pasta and peanut butter The program is accepting food and monetary contributions during its normal business hours. To make a contribution, please call (727) 443-4031 and let them know you would like to contribute to the food drive or visit the website at www.RCSpinellas.org to make a financial contribution. Congregations, businesses, civic organizations, and concerned citizens are encouraged to get a barrel from the RCS Food Bank to host a food drive. They will provide a custom flyer for your food drive that can be distributed, placed on a news board, or published on your website.
