Clearwater East Gateway Aims to Take Back Neighborhood

Concerned neighbors and businesses from the Clearwater East Gateway and adjoining neighborhoods will take part in a neighborhood walk on the evening of Thursday, August 20. This is part of their strategy to alert neighbors that residents are active and engaged in the workings of their neighborhood.

The East Gateway Businesses and Neighbors Association meets monthly to discuss neighborhood issues and concerns with a focus on community improvement and healthy revitalization. The association understands the only way to reclaim a neighborhood from crime, blight, and deterioration is through the dynamic partnership of neighbors, businesses, civic leaders, and public safety officials.

The association urges the participation of adjacent neighborhoods including their congregations, businesses, and citizens. Interested persons should show up at Goodyear Auto Service Center at 1196 Cleveland St, Clearwater, at 6:45 p.m. The walk will include a police escort. The walk will include a police escort and refreshments served afterward.
