First Clearwater Civitan Club Member Will be the Florida District Governor

The four Clearwater Civitan Club delegates returned from the 90th Civitan International Convention with good news. First, the Clearwater Civitan Club was recognized for its $25,000 donation to the Civitan International Research Center at the University of Alabama Medical Center. Second, Gay Aaron an Orlando Civitan, and Past Florida District Governor, was elected as President-Elect of Civitan International for the 2009-2010 Civitan Year. Third, Clearwater Civitan Club Past President, Frank Kelley, has completed his training as Governor-Elect of the Florida District and was designated Governor for the 2009-1010 Civitan Year.

Frank Kelley is the first member of the Clearwater Civitan Club to be elected to the office of Governor of the Florida District in the 57-year history of the Club. He will be installed as Governor at the Civitan District Convention to be held September 11 and 12, 2009 at the Crown Plaza Melbourne Oceanfront, 2605 North Highway A1A, Indialantic, Florida. Civitan International President, Mark Eisinger, will speak at the noon luncheon on Saturday. He will also install the Florida District officers at the Saturday evening banquet.
