Clearwater Main Library Hosts Society of Scribes Program

CLEARWATER - The Society of Scribes will host a program titled Shakespeare Appears in a Florida Scriptorium by Ruth Pettis in conjunction with a calligraphy reception at the Clearwater Main Library Saturday, Sept. 12 at 2 p.m.

Ruth Pettis' artwork is all about letters, words, text, meaning, and expression. Her calligraphy brings literature and language into a visual form. Pettis will present the concept of the scriptorium applied to the modern scribe. She will discuss and illustrate her exploration of the sonnets of William Shakespeare as a journaling process, both in the styles of text used and in the illustrative elements.

The Clearwater Main Library is located at 100 N. Osceola Ave. For more information, call (727) 562-4970.
