All Aboard--for the Train Rides Around Largo Central Park

Photos/text by SANDI FAHY

Over 100 adults and children were already in line when the Largo Central Park Railroad trains started running at 10 a.m. on September 5. Train Weekends are scheduled the first full weekend of each month. It was apparent that the miniature trains are as popular with adults as they are with the younger set. Above, the engineer of the Norfolk Southern waves as he pulls out of the terminal at the west end of the park.

Waiting at the railroad crossing at Largo Central Park on September 5 are Peter Hinkle, center, and his 22-month-old triplets, Robert, Tyler and Maggie. With them, at left, is the triplets' great aunt, Rumma Meuer. At right is their grandmother, Colette Hinkle.
