Clearwater Neighborhoods Coalition to Host Free Presentation to Educate the Public on Street Gang Activity

On Saturday, October 10, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the St. Petersburg College Clearwater Campus, Art Auditorium, 2465 Drew Street, Clearwater, the Clearwater Neighborhoods Coalition (CNC) will host a free presentation to educate the public on street gang activity in and around Pinellas County.

Experts from the National Safety Council - Gang Intervention and Prevention Program, City of Clearwater Police Department, Clearwater Hispanic Outreach - Gang Intervention, Boys and Girls Clubs of the Suncoast - Gang Intervention and Outreach, and the Pinellas County State Attorney - Gang Intervention and Prosecution Program will present and discuss topics related to reducing street gang activity through community involvement.

This informative event is designed to provide Pinellas County residents with a greater awareness of street gang activity. It will also provide useful contacts and ideas that residents can use to protect their families, and neighborhoods from street gangs. Parents, children, and concerned residents are encouraged to attend this event in order to become better educated on the risk factors created by criminal street gang activity for their children, schools and neighborhoods.

The Clearwater Neighborhoods Coalition (CNC) was formed in 1970 and is composed of neighborhood, civic, and homeowner associations in Clearwater, FL. The CNC serves to address City of Clearwater, Pinellas County, and State of Florida issues that impact the concerns of the associations represented by the CNC. The CNC holds monthly meetings, which are open to the public.
