
Eat Fish, Help the Plumb House and Refresh Your Clearwater Bombers Memories - All for $10Take your family to the Clearwater Historical Society Annual Fall Fish Fry on Saturday, November 7, from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Ross Norton Recreation Center, 1426 South Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue, Clearwater. The Society is a 501 (c) 3 non- profit organization and your donation of $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under will get you all of the best fried fish and tastiest hush puppies in town, along with plenty of delicious cheese (or plain) grits, cole slaw, iced tea or coffee, and free parking. Net proceeds go to the maintenance and upkeep of the Historic Plumb House Museum, a cracker-style house, circa 1896, which was the birthplace of Mary and Kathleen Plumb, granddaughter of Jennie Reynolds Plumb, Clearwater's first paid public school teacher for whom Plumb Elementary School is named. The Historic Plumb House Museum will be open for free tours on "Fish Fry Day", November 7th through May 1st, 2010, from 8:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of each month and also every Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. The Museum is located next door to the Ross Norton Recreation Center so, after you have had your fill of super good food at the fish fry, go to the Historic Plumb House for a free tour of the museum to see uniforms and pictures of the Clearwater Bombers, the 10-time Men's World Fast Pitch Softball Champions. Also, see the many historical documents, early Clearwater photographic collections and period furniture on display in the museum.
