Silver Coffee Marks 31st Year

It has been 31 years since the first Silver Coffee was held to generate funds for the Gulf Coast Division of the Children's Home Society of Florida. What was first a daytime party later evolved into an annual "Moonlight"-themed evening event. The tradition has continued over the years and another Silver Coffee is slated this week. "Moonlight Over the Quarter" will take place at the home of Ann and Joe Douglas in Belleair.

Sandy Barkley and Leona Kinnear are co-chairs of this year's event. Also serving on the Silver Coffee Committee are Jennifer Andersen, Laura Bair, Ernestine Bean, Niki Bouchard, Diane Cagni, Pie Cook, Allison Davidson, Beth Ann Fisher, Irene Hughes, Shawn Karaphillis, Marie Kudelko, Alison Martin, Sharon Meek, Melinda Royster, Patricia Slaughter and Brenda Whitehead.

Proceeds from "Moonlight Over the Quarter" will benefit the Children's Home Society of Florida's Family Visitation House, which provides children of Pinellas County a safe, secure and comfortable homelike environment when out-of-home placements are necessary. 2009 sponsors include Sandy and Craig Barkley, Patricia and John Slaughter, Boos Development Group, Inc., The Cantonis Company, Pie and Bryan Cook, D-Mar General Contracting and Development, Inc., Lisa and George Etheridge, Jr., The Hayslett Team-Remax, Hubbell Funeral Home, Kathy and Rowland Milam, Pinch-a-Penny, Inc. and Quality Boats of Tampa Bay.
