Discover Egmont Key Fund-Raiser SlatedThe Egmont Key Alliance will hold its twelfth Discover Egmont Key fund-raiser on Saturday, November 14th and Sunday, November 15th. Come out and visit one of the areas hidden treasures, stroll along roads and sidewalks that are over 100 years old. Along the way visit interpretive sites on island history, wildlife, military history and nature. Enjoy Civil War re-enactors and the 151-year-old lighthouse. Shuttle boats will leave Ft. DeSoto Park from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m., with the last boat returning from Egmont at 4:30 p.m.. Hot dogs, water and souvenirs will be available for purchase on the island. Tickets are $15 and may be purchased on line or at the gate. Children 11 and under are admitted free accompanied by an adult. Group discount tickets of 10 or more are also available.
